I've been pressure cooking for over 50 years. Instead of slow cooking and wasting all that time, and, I agree with you, not worth that amount of time. Try the pressure cooker version, it takes less than 20 minutes .
You can put your elbow mac in the pressure cooker, 16 oz of pasta and 4 cups of water….if you use 12 oz of macaroni, you can use 3 cups of water……….pressure cook it for 4 minutes, drop the pressure and your mac will be cooked and there will be no water to drain if you use those measurements, then you can add your other ingredients, pressure those for another 4 minutes and you're through. There are numerous recipes out there now for pressure cooker mac and cheese and I think you'll be a lot happier with a lot less cooking time, and the recipes are really similar to this one, and you can use shredded cheese if you desire. Just an FYI. I've done 3 or 4 versions. I don't like to recommend recipes, because everybody has different tastes. I happen to like mine made with pepperjack cheese w/jalapenos, but that's only my personal preference, and a lot of people like to stay to the traditional version w/cheddar cheese.

Looks like is was real tasty mac n cheese but that did take some time. I have used a recipe that makes mac n cheese real quick in the instant pot and it was good imo. Great video Darnell.

that looked pretty good, my mother got me an instapot for christmas and i have yet to use it, i also have several pasta machines that i can make my own noodles with, you have me wanting to make some homemade mac n cheese, then bake it, unfortunate my nuwave pro cracked the glass recently otherwise, id put the mac and cheese in there to finish it off. thanks for sharing the videos and recipes with us. much appreciated.
