What do you like to add to your succotash recipe?
Thufferin' Thuccotash! 😀
You need to have Amy from Amy’s Louisiana kitchen on with Paula. She’d be a great guest. Her cooking videos are sooo good.
Never thought about adding the chicken base to the vegetable water before. I will try this. Thanks Paula!!
This looks so good! Thanks!
I don’t likeyou
Looks so good. Where is Michael and how is he. I have not heard you mention him in a long time.
We like ambrosia sweet corn
My grandmother added heavy cream which gave it a very creamy silky taste and texture. She’s gone now but I wish I could find a recipe the way she made it.
I thought it had more ingredients. Looks delicious.
What is the history behind the name succotash?
Looks really good Paula. I have heard of it, but being from the North, I wasn’t sure what it was.
Butter beans, corn and I like the Frozen bag of cut up Frozen bag of cut up okra, the bacon also your seasoning , salt pepper. Oh nice pan of cornbread 😋 that all I need plus maybe some time I slice a tomatoe , cucumber plus a piece of feta cheese With O.O & red wine vinegar on the side. Tall glass of ice tea. (I'm fixed)
I have that cookbook it’s wonderful you are a great cook and so appreciate your show and recipes blessings to you and the family
I absolutely love Succotash!! ❤
Looks delicious, Paula! When I make my succotash I add some diced onion and red bell pepper. I’ve never added bacon….but I will now. I love it anyway you make it! Thank you for Sharing this with us! LOL
Silver queen is the only way to go.
Love succotash
Silver Queen Corn is the best !!!
Paula, 'processed' and 'them being processed really good' is an oxymoron. You don't think there are preservatives (unhealthy ones at that) to keep things fresh? It's a shame at 76 you don't know that yet.
This Southern Succotash recipe looks so delicious 😋 Paula.
My aunt made succotash using corn, Lima beans, salt, pepper, butter and cream! I really want to try yours! It sounds really good!☘️💜☘️
Miss Paula…please be careful with that material hanging from your sleeves around that gas stove. Don't want you getting hurt . 😘
Silver Queen corn was developed in Upstate NY…most GA farmers still buy the seeds from them. And I think it's the best!
Great video! More like this please. Paula is in her element here! Natural, no drama, clear descriptions, a little hearkening back to the past…No unnecessary off-putting Eddie or Theresa drama or opinions. I do like veggies (other than just corn) in my “succotash”: peppers, onions, even zucchini…The heavy veggies make it healthier! 😁
I go to that cookbook many times throughout the year. It's one of my favorites.
Any dish with corn is the BEST! Butter beans are one of our favorite beans as well Bacon? Well, what more could I add?! The marriage is made in the kitchen!!
Good morning everyone. I like to eat succotash just the way my mother used to make it. So good.
I don't like Lima beans
Yum!
I like Paula’s earrings. ❤ & I like Succotash too 😃
Love the recipe, Paula. I kept worrying that the tabs on your shirt would catch on fire over the stove. I think they are meant to be tied.
I love succotash but I have to have onions in mine. Looks good❣️
Yes. Silver Queen for humans, yellow for the hogs. Tennessee and Virginia heritage. Thanks Paula for your southern cooking. Many good memories you are cooking up!❤
“Better Than Bouillon” is a mainstay in my kitchen. I will never use the cubes again.
Oh my gosh, that looks, sounds and smells deeelicious!!!
I think I'd saute a little Vidalia with the bacon! Mmmm, I love them butter beans! 👍👍😁
I love succotash, haven't had it in years, I'm making this!
Succotash! Classic dish that dates back centuries!
I really like it when you make side dishes and I also like it when you use recipes from your cookbooks. I have all your cookbooks. One day I will meet you and you can sign one of my books.🥰
