Now that explanation for chess pie is the biggest pile of made up bs I've heard today. It's a good thing that you can cook. Because you don't know squat about history. You would have had more credibility if you had simply said, I don't know.

Oh my goodness…I haven't had Chess Pie in forever. I LOVE it! Use to get it at Furr's Cafeteria every Sunday after church when I was a little girl. Can't wait to make this. Oh Paula…thank you so much and God Bless you and yours!

I grew up in Texas and all of my family made chess pies but never did I ever hear of putting corn meal in them, wow, I guess you learn something new every day!

My Aunt Leona was an incredible pie maker. Her pies were always the first to go at family reunions. I remember her wooden pie chest! Her chocolate and lemon meringue pies were to die for! : )

As I am the same age as you dear lady; I so relate to your food. I can’t imagine all the blood, sweat and tears you’ve put into your successful journey!
I substitute a mix of dry beans and rice which I keep in a mason jar to reuse!

Hey Theresa, next time Paula asks you to read off the ingredient amounts how bout doing that instead of talking back to her. Why should people watching a cooking video have to go through the extra steps of going to a website for the amounts. Just sayin
