I read The Family Upstairs a while ago, and my sister-in-law has just given me the sequel this evening! Looking forward to reading it on my hols, as I donโ€™t take library books away with me, and donโ€™t like to read from a screen.

Sarah Millican from Scotland hahaha! It's funny. I have friends from all over the UK and the only ones who can't differentiate (and in some cases can't understand) different dialects are people from the South.

    Hello Luke-
recently subscribed to your channel and really like it. Thank you for the effort you put into it. I especially like your book recommendations, and have put many of them on my reading list. Coincidentally, I just finished "Young Mungo". It took me a long time to get into that book for some reason. But towards the end i really raced through it and loved it. So next will start Shuggie Bain.
In my 20s, 30s, and 40s i really enjoyed buying, reading, collecting books; but my dining room/library is now full so have switched to borrowing library books online to read on my tablet (which is with me always anyway). I find i don't have to worry about sitting next to a reading light now; plus i am prompted by the library to read them in 3 weeks….or else!
Anyway, i thoroughly enjoy your channel. You're a great soul. I live in the states (Portland Oregon) and love it when the Brits say "Bits and Bobs". Only time i was in London was for 2 weeks in 2018 mainly to go to Wimbledon, but also did the touristy things. Everything is sooo "civilized".
Anyway, just wanted to give you some feed back on your channel. You are very talented and keep up the great content!

Thereโ€™s a really good BBC2 programme called Between the Covers presented by Sara Cox and they do book reviews and Sara interviews celebrities who join her on the show and they share their favourite reads and do book reviews as well on the programme. You might find some favourites on the programmes, Luke. I only say that because Snuggie Bain was in one of the shows and lots of people really liked it. Tfs your vlogs and content Luke, Iโ€™ve been enjoying the videos! – Mel

I would like to recommend a friends book for you to read if thatโ€™s ok. Itโ€™s called the โ€˜The boy in the cellarโ€™ by Stephen Smith. Not an easy read either as itโ€™s about his personal upbringing. ๐Ÿ™

My mom is an English teacher here in South Africa and she taught Shuggie Bain last year and couldn't recommend it enough! I'm keen to read it too ๐Ÿ˜‡

You remind me why I use my Kindle rather than make space for paper books. <G> Although, to be truthful, these days I get more audio books than anything else. The joy of being read to is amazing and my old eyes just can't handle a lot of print…especially on transit. Been there, done that, dealing with the results.

Which reminds me: pre = prior, so prequel is before.

    Poor Maggie missing her friend.

Hi Luke. Sadly I cant read books no more, since the 2nd vaccine my concentration level has dropped, i just cant remember what ive read even after only a page. Its sad because i was reading vilette by one of the bronte sisters. From what i can remember it was good. My memory is terrible now, i do have other symptoms too, i really wish i had never had that injection, its spoiled my life. Xx

Poor Maggie. Getting out and running should help. Our dog used to pull on the leash when my daughter took her on a run but when we switched to a harness Suzi stopped pulling and stayed on pace with my daughter.
