Hello from the UK! I found your site last night just as yet ANOTHER month long lock down was announced ! Have been at work today in the freezing cold with a banging migraine and all I had to hold onto was this recipie I read last night. As soon as I got home I started it as no food all day. I had some toor dall in the cupboard I had not a clue what to do with so used those along with basmati rice. I also used some harissa spice I had and it turned out great. Only the second time I have used my instant pot as it’s new . I had to look up instructions what to do when the time was over but just left it to do it’s thing. It was delicious and sorry to say I have just eaten half of it. I now am sitting on the sofa can’t move apart from looking at more of your recipies. Thank you 😄

This was one of my favorite dishes when we'd go out. I made it for dinner tonight; here's how it went. I followed the recipe; when the pressure came down on its own, I opened my Instant Pot. It looked like yours, and needed fluffing. However, some of my lentils did not cook. Most did, but I had hard ones throughout. Also, the Coriander was a little too much. But like you said, make it your own – so I'll cut back if I make it again. Overall, it came out like yours, it was just the issue with the lentils not cooking through. It had a good taste and consistency. I made your Hummus first and had that ready. When I served it up I put a dollop of the Hummus on top and a side of a baked Hanna yam, and a side of sauteed Chard with onions. I was stuffed! The recipe is a keeper. Thanks again. The Hummus was delicious. I've never had it made with Sesame Seeds.

I followed this exactly using farro. My pot burned. I had to scrap out the food that was not burned and I put it in my rice cooker with an additional 1/2 cup of broth and cooked it as I do for white rice. When it was done it tasted great. Like I said I followed the directions exactly. I don't know what happened. Any suggestions? Next time I am just going to use the rice cooker.

Greetings from Alberta Canada, Always enjoy watching your videos. As a second gen. middle easterner, your version of Majadara, was definitely interesting. We make ours the more 'traditional' way and use wild rice( gf home), served with a generous mixed salad, or toubouleah and pickled turnips. Yummmm

That looks great. I'm so glad you are making these middle eastern dishes. My grandmother used to cook these for me – but not SOS free like this. I hope you will come up with an SOS free version of stuffed grape leaves and rolled cabbage soon.

Doubled the recipe but got a 'burn' message on my instant pot. Added more water but still got the same message so I cooked on the 'slow cooker' setting for 30 min. It was very good and will make again but any advice on how not to get the 'burn' message?

This recipe sounds really delicious. Unfortunately I’m having difficulty with it. I’m using the smallest instant pot. After following all directions as indicated, I keep getting a “burn” message. I have tried adding more liquid than indicated but still no luck. Big disappointment. 🙁
