I live in the south and always loose my spinach to bolting. Last year I planted Malabar Spinach. It is a vineing plant that is heat tolerant. Use a 3 or 4 foot trellis. It reseeds itself so put it in it's permanent home location. Grows in partial sun. Check it out and harvest all season long.

I was wondering if maybe you can do a video for what you use for your everyday products. Such as: laundry soap, dish soap, shampoo, etc. Thank you so much. I just love all of your content!

Love all the ideas you give! I do a lot of canning and purchased a freeze dryer last year. I have a lot of bones from chickens we raise and Grassfed beef bones that in the past I canned (I had shelves of canned broth/stock). Freeze drying the stock takes up less space and I have more lids to use on other canning projects. I also freeze dry ground beef and shredded chicken. Thank you for your channel it’s inspirational! Yhwh bless!

Wow, thank you! The hole challenge was so inspiring. Also to hear you talk about the difference between homesteading and prepping, that eased my mind. We are homesteading in Finland and canning is very unusual here. But you inspired me and now I ordered a cressure canning pot, so exited! I look forward to lean canning, and will watch all your videos on it. Thank you!!! Rebecca from Finland

If you’re having a problem with voles if you plant marigolds, Daffodils, irises, and enythroniun any and all on the four corners of your bed you might not have a problem. They hate them . We had a problem with moles when we first put in the beds but my daughter has an unhealthy obsession with marigolds and they just went away

I bought a set of the fourjars off of Amazon and it was $18 for 100 of them. And in my box there was a scan code that I scanned and it said if I put a video of me using it on Amazon they would send me 10 free jar lids so I did it I’m just waiting for the free 10. And the jars all sealed too I usually have like one or two fails in every load and none. Now let’s see how long they stay on the shelf

We have all raised beds about 2 feet high and love them. I can set in a low chair and work. So much easier on the body, helps keep out some weeds, grasses, and moles. If you have older seeds, put them in a wet paper towel in a sealed baggie. Check and see if they have sprouted in a few days and then plant them if they have.

I don't normally comment but I watch your channel because I have learned a lot of things I didn't know about different foods and whatnot. I'm about to turn 60 years old and I live with my adult son who has high functioning Asperger's and will never give me grandkids. So, it's just the 2 of us and let me just say your videos are never boring. I have learned so much from you about stocking a pantry and homemade foods. I finally bit the bullet and finally learned to can a couple of years ago, we're still working on our garden. Love your pantry challenges. Just wanted to say you go girl and keep up these kind of videos. That person who said that can go find another channel to watch somewhere else. Vicky

I no longer use soy sauce or coconut aminos. I found a recipe that is beef broth you turn into ‘soy sauce’. I take beef Beth, add salt ginger and garlic. For the dish I use it for I add brown sugar and cayenne, cook it down a bit and voila!

I am trusting in YHWH to provide for me and my family. He has lead me to learn about canning and growing food. I have chickens and am going to be getting milk from a neighbor that has dairy cows that he grows the feed for them himself (aka non-gmo) it has been a big difference from a couple years ago when I am purchasing from the local farmers and preserving it myself. The food tastes so much different it is better by a long way.

You should think about canning your tallow in smaller jars. With the winter cold and the size of your family I bet you would go through smaller jars of tallow fast enough that it would be safe to keep a jar on the counter by the stove. I get wanting to refrigerate a bigger jar but maybe if the tallow is right by the stove it will be easy to just grab. If a thing is too inconvenient it just won't get used.

I love watching your pantry challenge videos. Our family did our own challenge last week to see if it was possible for our family of 9 to eat for only $50 for the week. We ended up at $57.76! The day after our challenge was over my daughter and I made homemade poptarts that you made in a previous video. They were delicious! My dauther loves to make pie, but alwayls ends up with extra crust. We've been just throwing it in the freezer but hardly ever use it. Poptarts were perfect to use it up! Thanks for the inspiration!

When my kids where little like that I had a canister of oats that I kept in the fridge. It had a big sign do not eat. I let the kids play with it with all kind of kitchen spoons and cups. They loved it. And if they put it in there mouth it wasn’t the worst thing in the world. Kept them busy forever. Your little one reminded me of that.
