theres an instant black bean ramen you can pick up from the store and the first time i tried it it was terrible but then i read a comment on youtube that said to add a touch of sugar and it completely changed the game for me

Korean here:) looks yummy. This food is called 짜장면 in Korea. But originally it is Chinese food called 炸酱面. It was originated from one Chinese cook who lived in Korea. He wanted to invent some Chinese food for Korean taste and that is the origin of this food:) They are now completely different food I think. In Korea, we have Korean version of Chinse resturant which is quite different from original Chinese food(btw, we also have real chinse style resturant too)
