They have similar shaved ice in California, most run by Asians. The portion is bigger in California (so it’s often shared between 2-3 people), but the toppings are pretty much the same. I love going to these shaved ice stores with my friends and family.
In Malaysia, we call this "Ice Kacang"….which is another version of shaved ice, with syrup topped with jelly and nuts., quite similar to the Japanese way of eating.
there’s actually one here in LA (sgv, alhambra) i haven’t gone in awhile but it’s pretty good! tbh LA is one of those places where you kinda find almost all kinds of food anywhere throughout the city. (tho ofc traveling and trying other food from their original places is best!)
Look delicious indeed. In Malaysia, this is one of our famous street food. It's called ABC (Air Batu Campur = mix ice i mean grated ice ❄ with syrup, fruits, red bean)
I have seen it before, it's exactly what I expect, it's nothing new, and it's definitely not a japan thing. It's signature dessert in my country lol.
It’s everywhere in most Asian countries
I’ve never seen shaved ice. I genuinely thought that that’s a movie thing lol
Japan trains are way more advanced, and I bet they hardly ever get delayed than MTA trains here in NYC 😭😭🫡
Reminds me of Halo-halo. For me, Halo-halo much better ♡
Ngl I think it looks like a raspado
