Hello, Paula! I've been doing keto for a week and am already seeing results! I have multiple health issues including diabetes, arthritis, chronic fatigue and a condition called Mast Cell Activation Syndrome. I had a VSG (vertical sleeve gastrectomy) in 2019 to help control my diabetes and hypertension. This past weekend I actually was able to get up and stay up ALL day!! I was able to actually gets meals prepared and frozen, my kitchen cleaned, oven cleaned, and did NOT have to go lay down. My "normal " day consists of getting up. Within 90 minutes I have to go back to bed because I'm just exhausted. I am 64, still working full time as an RN. The energy has made a huge difference! I do have a wee issue, though. After the VSG, where 75% of my gut was removed. So I can only eat about 3 Oz at a time which also means I have to eat more frequently, but I still keep my carbs between 20-25. I want to thank you for your channel!

I’m 54 and did keto a few years ago to help with an autoimmune disease that is trying to kill my inner ear. It helped so much and I lost weight but over time I drifted back to my regular old ways. Since then I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and colitis. I went gluten free for a year with now change in my labs showing hashimoto. Levels should be under 294 but mine read over 3,000. My twin and I decided to do ketovore and try to keep carbs below 10g a day. I haven’t got my labs back yet but as for my ear I can tell a major difference. I pray that this way of eating will bring my labs back to normal. Thank you for you inspiration and help.

You make your poppers like I do. It’s so much easier to add crumbled bacon instead of wrapping bacon around them. I also think they just taste better because so many times the bacon doesn’t get good and crispy when it’s wrapped around the jalapeño. Who was half cooked floppy bacon!?😅

I am a believer Paula, I have lost 8 pounds in 5 days being on the Keto lifestyle plan. I am sure some of it is water, but it goes to show how bloated I was. I have more energy and feel fantastic. I would encourage newbies like me to watch all of Paula's videos, and visit her website for recipes and tips, because she really breaks it down to make it very easy to be successful. Thank you Paula and God bless

Love your channel. So practical. Like you I have grandkids who I love spending time with. The keto lifestyle has been beneficial to me for sure. I eat my 2 meals a day & fast until morning. Can’t wait for my cup of coffee in AM & my LMNT. one thing I find is that I can’t eat much at each meal. I get full very fast. Hasn’t been an issue, but not sure if others experience this. Thoughts?

Hi Paula, interesting that you referenced How some people perceive this as “unhealthy”. I just was at my annual check up and slightly hesitant to tell my long time doctor I had changed to low carb low sugar life style. My doctor stated the medical world was starting to acknowledging benefits from this diet change and recommended I increase hydration and exercise with this. She also order a lab to check on kidneys etc as I know I eat a lot of protein. She was supportive. It was helpful as I feel more confident and now with your group I am soaring! I am starting to count carbs as I have been stuck at current weight for 3 weeks. I believe I have been following pretty much a clean keto since I started. You rock with recipes! Thanks again for all the great information!

Thank you so much for your daily post. I fell off my keto lifestyle during the pandemic, when I needed it most. I am feeling like I am in recovery and you are just what I needed.

I think keto gets a bad rap because most people who try it don't do it correctly, never get into fat burning and gain the benefits, and they stop. They may even get bad bloodwork results, after which doctors will say 'you see?', when in reality they never actually learned the right way to do it. I'm in a group for women over 50 doing keto and it's amazing to me the number of people who join and say "I've been doing keto for a few weeks and haven't lost anything" and they don't know what macros are or how to track them, don't understand ketosis, and simply have not educated themselves that keto is much, much more than just cutting carbs. IMHO, most people today are not willing to put the time into learning the right ways to do things, and then, when they try and fail, they blame the plan, not their method.

Good morning Paula. Thanks for another great video. I started low carb 1-1/2 yrs ago with my husband. He did keto and lost 100 lbs. I lost 40 and I have stalled due to my inability to stay on low carb. I was always leery of keto. Could not wrap my mind around eating so much fat. But now with my husbands results and your results I am ready to go keto 100%. Your videos are so encouraging and the medical results you have gotten have convinced me I need to go all in with keto. And your recipes make it so easy to find things that I am craving. Thank you and have a relaxing Sunday!!!

I agree that there is much misconception about keto out there! I was prediabetic when I went on keto 20 years ago. All of my numbers normalized. And 20 years ago keto was a fringe movement so everyone thought that I was going to die immediately. LOL! It broke my heart when I told someone my story and she said "I'm diabetic! I HAVE TO have carbs!" The medical community hasn't changed their nutritional advice and its just so so sad.

Thank you for these daily postings. I have been on Keto for several years. During the holiday seaso since Thanksgiving I had gotten very lackadaisical in my choices of food. I definitely am suffering the consequences in weight gain, indigestion and joint pain. Your videos have encouraged me to get back strongly in to my Keto lifestyle and I am already benefiting from it again. Please keep posting. It is great encouragement. Blessings, Linda from Virginia

Good Sunday morning Paula. I tried that homemade Big Mac Salad yesterday – and let me tell you it was absolutely delicious – so much better than waiting in line at McDonald's for a Big Mac. Thanks for sharing another great recipe. 😁😊

Is anyone struggling with the Zstar. I tried to Kate pork chops last night it was very fussy with me. Do you preheat on your own as I noticed it does not automatically preheat when you select a setting and time/time. Paula I am feeling good on day 8 but the sodium in the no sugar jerky and bacon I think still leads to swollen ankles for me. Do you watch the sodium content on the foods as well?
