    Ok i read through the comments as far as I could but didn't see any one Mention or ask/answer this question.
    Could you not just put the wax beads in the jars and set them in the water to let it melt? Or put them in your water bather…? Then after it melts and begins to chill, then add your scent oils…?

    Okay sweetness, can you please use a scissors when cutting things open instead of your sharp knives, for one, it's bad for the knife and for another, I'm so worried, it's going to slip and you'll end up cutting yourself really badly, because I'm not sure if you noticed or not, but that blade is usually in an "up" position and you bring it towards your body. I'd really hate to see you get hurt.

    Your videos always crack me up! I love all the accidents and the fact that you can laugh at yourself. We all have them and it's so nice to see that you don't edit them out. Keeping it real makes your videos comfortable and approachable. I'm 52 and have been canning, cooking, baking, crafting, etc for over 30 years now but I always learn something from you. One thing I've never learned how to do though – style my hair. I'm always jealous of yours!

    I am an aromatherapist and distributor for Simply Earth. I enjoy your videos daily. I wanted to mention it is important when making candles with EOs to let the wax cool a bit (to 150 degrees) so you are not evaporating your scent. A thermometer is most useful to determine this. Good luck on your new hobby. I love making candles as well. BTW tried out the vanilla extract recipe. I used the spiced rum, so can't wait to try in a few months.

    Oh i might have a try at making candle`s ,when i have large bags like that ,thats been opened i normally put the open bag inside a buckets while i am using it ,so i don`t spill it because you can gaurentee I will spill it or it topples over and when am done seal the bag inside a Ziplock bag …

I feel the joy your personality brings to this homesteading/cooking/preserving kind of show. I am so grateful for you and even your family. Josh seems really sweet, and your mom is wonderful too.

    I thought I would share what I'm doing to preserve up food. I began in the spring to can up some homemade soups. I finally got myself a pressure canner and just love being able to can so much more than I ever have b4. I began buying things from the grocery store (I am unable to access fresh farm food,) however I do the best I can. I have canned potatoes and carrots, pickled beats, pickles, cowboy candy, salsa, tomato sauce, corn, beans and so much more. My friend and I bought beef roasts on sale and we canned that. It's so delicious. We have also canned turkey. I baked an extra turkey at our Thanksgiving and baked it. Then I took all the meat off the bones and canned that with a little chicken broth. It turned out so yummy and goes so well with the cranberry sauce I also canned. Now I can have Thanksgiving dinner whenever I want. We also bought chicken breasts on sale and canned that raw. I had no idea it would turn out so good. I have also canned chili and beef stew. Then of course there is the jams… and the pie filling… Blueberry, cherry, apple and peach. All so good. In all, we figured that I have about 800 jars or more. Keep in mind I live in a 1 bedroom apartment. I have to be very strategic about where I put my jars. My best friend Carole; my canning buddy, even made a shelf for me in my room where I have some of it displayed. The rest I have in my closet. It is a work in progress as I come up with new ideas for canning this or that. At first Carole thought I was crazy, now she's my partner in crime. lol….

    I am so grateful for your channel and others like yours that encourage this lifestyle. I like to be prepared for anything. I know that I can also share with my friends and family should the need arise. You have encouraged me to do what I do, so thank you. I really appreciate it. I love it that me watching your channel benefits you and your family by providing you with an income which again encourages you. What an amazing system!     Oh my heart! Pregnancy oopsies…honey, you are doing great….slow down a bit. And thank you for inspiring me to make enchiladas for dinner with some leftover chicken and rice. Just as you suggested add whatever you have. So I stretched it by adding black beans, corn and chopped red peppers. Then I added about 4 tablespoons of homemade salsa verde, a tablespoon of sour cream and filled up my tortillas. Placed in a dish with homemade enchilada sauce and smothered with more and grated cheddar. Yum.

    Hey Becky! I've owned a candle company (Simply Curated) for 10 years now. When I first started making candles I did it just like this. A few things that have been mentioned but I wanted to re-iterate, temperature is super important with soy wax and it carries depending on the kind of soy wax you're using. You can use a candy thermometer or an infrared thermometer to get the temperature of your wax while melting. The second tip would be for your fragrance blends that you made. I would figure our your ratio and blend the oils together in a measuring cup, then you want to add that to your wax as a percentage of weight. You can do this easily by using a scale that you'd use for baking or cooking. Put the jar on the scale, zero it out, add your wax, then take that measurement in OZ and use a calculator to figure between 6-8%, then that is the total oz of fragrance to add to that jar. (you can do the same thing with the whole pitcher, but then you need to have measured how much wax is in the pitcher first.) Lastly would be with your wooden wicks, you want to test to make sure you have the right size wick for the diameter of your jar and that it will melt it all the way across, but also not be oversized which could cause the candle to get too hot and the glass to break.

    I remember my oldest sister would come home at Christmas and summer and she would make fresh bees wax candles. I was young so I was allowed to watch and not touch and I always thought she was perfect and nothing could fase her or bring her down. I thought she would sell candles. I later found out yes she did make candles but it was only a handful of times and she hated it haha 😂 if only little me knew :p

    Hi Becky-some tips for you on candle making. First, you need more pitchers so you can incorporate scent into the wax versus the jar. Secondly, depending on the wax type, you have a maximum fragrance or essential oil amount (iRFA) you can add. Adding more can cause oils pooling, and worse yet a “spitting” of oil as the wax burns which can be dangerous. Finally, you should not add essential or fragrance oil until your wax cools to 120-160 degrees (I add at 140), or it degrades the oil. The amount you added was so high because you “degraded” your oil by adding it to wax that was too hot. That’s why you couldn’t smell it! Not meaning to be critical at all-I hope this helps!

    I know you don't like to follow recipes/directions/guidelines, etc., but you might want to look up the DOs and DON'Ts of candle making. It will be safer, less wasteful, and you'll get better results.
