    My grandmother made this all the time, she said the secret is the butcher slicing the meat, thin but not too thin…..sometimes she made the filling with ricotta, romano and mozzarella mixed together with the spices, egg, and prosciutto ( diced )…..cooked in the sauce…..so good…..

    One of my earliest memories was my grandfather (he was Maltese) making braciole. I guess this was 52-53 years ago. It was a big deal to make this, must have been a special occasion. If I remember correctly, he added olives and eggs – but I was pretty young, I could be wrong.
    Thank you for showing me how to make this, I'm definitely going to try it. It's been a LONG time since I've had this.
