As a greek i must admit that i m so amazed of italian food that i say its better in my opinion than greek. Moreover i wanna say things outside of greece is also fucked up in a non-traditional way and taste disgusting.
Fun fact to that: my favourite dish ever is greek γιουβέτσι(gioubetsi) which is made of italian orzo 😀

Hello Vincenzo, thanks for your videos. Really helped me with the bolognese. I believe all Greeks would consider Italian cuisine more refined than the Greek one. I for one never had the image of a Greek cuisine in my head (like Italian, French, etc). I am not 100% sure on this but there was probably no active effort to promote it for a long time (I believe recently it started to change). So Ramsay's words probably surprised us as much and we got them as a joke.

Greek & Italian both are great. I prefer Italian because I grew up with it. I think both Greek & Italian food suffer in American restaurants. While not all terrible; nothing and I mean nothing compares to food prepared by family or family owned.
Same goes for Chinese Cuisine. I went to a local restaurants Chinese New Year party. The whole menu was different from what they make for us Americans.

I agree with changing the name to match the change — "mushroom carbonara" or something. For me, I make "carbonara", but use grated parm instead of pecorino, because I simply can't buy pecorino or have it delivered. I still call it carbonara, but recognize that it's not perfect.
