I am not sure who told you to bite them to get them open?? If cooked correctly they pull apart easily, then you dump the half with the juice and nuts into your mouth….yum!! I will have to try this recipe!

I just made boiled peanuts yesterday and I cooked those suckers for 8 hours on high in my crock pot! 45 minutes! Tell Richard he's a natural and we want to see more of him.

Winn-Dixie just had some of the best looking green peanuts on sale this week. Decided to try cooking them in the instant pot instead of the crock pot like I used to. Hope it turns out well.

I love boiled peanuts. But, I'm from New Orleans, not the South, and I'm no coonass, so I don't use all that salt or all the spicy cajun-style glop. Prefer a pinch of salt and a decent dose of BROWN SUGAR!. I've seen people in other parts of the world boil theirs with hardly any salt, too. Try 'em, you might be surprised. Bon appetit!

Whenever I go back to P'cola I get bags and bags of these things. Now my house won't stink for hours on end. I never thought about the crab boil. Hmmm. Thanks.

Haha! I've always said they taste like little potatoes also! BTW, they are preferably to be eaten warm. Not cold. Ask anyone in the south. That is why when you see them on display in convenient stores in the south they are in crock pots keeping warm. Great video and thanks!

I actually bought an instant pot and boiled the peanuts for 75 minutes.. but they simply Do Not taste the same at all, as boiling them for 4 hours normally on a stove in a pot. Something about pressure cooking peanuts just doesn't work. So do your research but real southern peanuts are boiled at 4 hours and salt to taste. No bullshit seasonings just salt.

Nice vid guys. I've got mine in the pressure cooker now so we'll see how they turn out. The crab boil is top secret material and my go to when I make jambalaya.

Trying this with my Ninja Foodi. Couldn’t find “green” ones, just raw. I’m too impatient to soak them overnight, so I’m pressure cooking them on high for 90 minutes. We’ll see how it goes…
