Use sweet Hungarian paprika next time. Makes a big difference
My family’s version is to make this a soup, we use a yellow onion to sauté first instead of red, and we cook a whole chicken in the slow cooker or instant pot and shredd it. We only use sour cream – no heavy cream and we make our dumplings to go along with the soup. But very similar recipe, I’ll have to give this a try as well.
