These are pretty darn good! Especially the next day for lunch. I do think next time I will add a dark beer to amp up the flavors. ๐Ÿ˜
Thank you for ,yet again, another amazing recipe!

hello, thanks for this recipe! definitely going to give it a try. i wonder what your thoughts are about adding baking soda towards the end of the cooking process to help neutralize the gases in the beans? or the other remedies like double/triple boiling to release the gases?

Amazing recipe! You made it so easy for me to customize it for our family allergies and for our NM preferences and it was a huge hit. I know this will be one of our regular meals. Tomatoes are an allergy so I used chopped green chile and powdered green and red chiles instead and it worked perfectly. Thank you so much!

Just for everyone to know : 1 pound of beans and 4 cups of water is too much for the 3Quart instant pot.
Once theyโ€™re all cooked and you try to release the pressure, bean juice and steam come out of the release hole and makes a huge mess. ((If u let the pressure naturally release then itโ€™s fine. Just be aware) I cut that recipe in half and it worked fine!

I think 3 quart pressure cooker pots are just too too too small for more than one person cooking.
Had to buy a 8quart. Much better and worry free.

Wow! 45 minutes. I don't know anything about these new-fangled Instant Pot things, but if I were to cook (say) a pound of unsoaked pinto beans – with or without other ingredients – in my trusty old pressure cooker for 45 minutes, I'd have some serious baby food! I'm not saying either method is better, but they seem to be pretty different! Cheers!

I wondered if you'd ever get on the Instant Pot bandwagon. It makes cooking so much easier, and usually quicker. I love mine, would hate to do without it now that I've got one.

I bought an Instant Pot and do not use it. Anything you can do in the Instant Pot can be done faster and easier conventionally. I do realize that you are making YT videos and adding Instant Pot recipes is a good addition to your channel. Love your recipes!

Admittedly, I'm a stoic anti-kitchen-gadget cook… I don't even use my microwave unless I'm making popcorn or softening butter. I've only this year purchased a rice cooker from Japan. It changed my life. I confess.

I make arroz three times a week. Why didn't I accept the rice cooker mentality? I'm a curmudgeon.

But, your last few videos have made me reconsider the InstantPot. I think I'm going to buy one now if for no other reason than easy charro beans… I love them. I could live on them.

Everyone gifts me kitchen gadgets. I have more worthless gadgets than you could fathom. I regift them. ๐Ÿ˜‰ (Panini presses, quesadilla makers, pasta buckets, set-it-and-forget-it rotisseries, God knows what else lives in my junk rooms — a wine chiller even, I think.)

However, I have a feeling the InstantPot isn't one of these now. It's just a modern pressure cooker.

You should be getting a kickback from the InstantPot people. You sold me. Well, your beans did.

    Cheers!

I can't wait to have charros all the time! ๐Ÿ’—๐Ÿฅฐ
