No, hell no! You have to bake the balls first or you're going to have a gravy full of grease. And no water in the sauce for God sakes. Bake the meatballs 15-20 minutes at 325. Add them to the instant pot, pour the sauce over them and pressure cook for about 10 minutes. Much better. You can always bake the meatballs and freeze them to have ready when you want meatballs and spaghetti sauce.

the only thing browning meatballs does take away the red look of meat in final meatball. I personally found that it's more important in beef stew to brown meat than meatballs.

We absolutely LOOOOOVE our Instant Pot.>>>ur2.pl/1046 We got it on Prime day and have used it every day since. Like most people, we fell into a rut of making the same meals over and over. The Instant Pot has opened up a whole new world for us. We are still discovering new recipes and having a lot of fun. If you are considering one of these, don't hesitate. I HIGHLY recommend it.

    The Meatballs:
2.25 lbs ground beef & pork mixture (aka meatloaf mixture)
    1/2 c dry bread crumbs
    1/4 c milk
    1 egg
    1/2 c grated parmesan cheese
1/4 c dry minced onion (I use the dried ones because my kids can't detect them the way
                                                they can detect fresh onion)
    2 Tbsp minced Italian parsley
    1 Tbsp dried Italian seasoning
    2 cloves minced garlic
2Tbsp prepared pesto (I love the flavor it adds)

Mix all ingredients together just until blended.  The less you handle the meat, the more tender your meatballs will be.
    Form meatballs into meatballs!
