I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. NOTHING can cook a soup like an Instant Pot. It cooks faster and it fuses SO much more flavor since no steam is escaping …

One caution: On the Facebook IP page, there was a warning by one user to not bang your spook against the lip of the pot. Any dent would compromise the seal of the IP. Wood spoon? No problem. Metal? May be an issue. I usually just stir with the spoon and the hot liquid melts off anything sticking to the spoon. Just FYI. As for the recipe, I read somewhere that it is better to use a Cream Sherry rather than a Cooking Sherry… thoughts?

Add finely diced leeks, fennel, celery and carrot in addition to shallots…..purée with immersion blender if needed after pressure cooking….really makes a great bisque! I like brandy instead of sherry but whatever floats your boat!

I love this cooker!>>>ur2.pl/1045 I grew up around pressure cookers in the kitchen, and knew of the danger that they could blow up if not properly taken care of. This cooker almost makes it impossible to fail. The fact that it's electric was originally why I was attracted. I usually prepare meals on Sunday for my husband and I to last the week. This cooker has made it possible for me to cut the cooking time in half, without changing the quality of the meals. It was a great purchase, I'm happy I did it.

It did not look like it made much of a base. How many servings did you get with this? I was thinking of doubling everything but the lobster? What do you recommend?

I didn't see the your link for the Lobster base for Amazon. I figured it may not be much, but it will help you, if we buy stuff through your link. Thanks for sharing.

Just wanted everyone to know that the two bay leaves are not included in the steps of the written recipe….it's in the pics, though. I almost forgot about them! The bisque is in my instant pot now…..
