It’s so easy to cook garbanzo beans (aka chickpeas) in the Instant Pot. You don’t even have to soak the beans first! And it takes less than an hour. It’s pretty much …

How many cups for beginners
I only move the steam release with a tong or serving spoon.
Thanks! I'll have to try this
Some of my clients report less digestive issues when the beans are instapot'd with a bay leaf or small kombu slice (washed). Apparently it will eat up a lot of the oligosacchrides naturally released in the pressurized water.
Would these be firm enough to put in a salad, or would you suggest cooking a shorter time for that?
your kitchen just looks like mine and i put my instant pot on the same place 🙂
coming from a professional chef, im very unfamiliar with the rinsing the beans after cooking. Always been taught to rinse before using to pick out any unwanted contaminates, dirt, or foreign objects. At the bare minimum, I would also add bay leaf, onion, garlic and salt to season the beans. Rinsing the beans post cooking would be counter productive IMO, and saving the cooking liquid for a variety of uses like in hummus, salad dressing, or a soup is quite beneficial.I New to instant pot use, and def needed a guide for cooking time on skipping soaking. Hope this works, thanks.
First of all. Wash your beans please. Also, pre-soak your beans or you'll be farting uncontrollably or have stomach cramps.
Too much 40 minutes
Hmm…wonder if this works the same for a Cosori electric pressure cooker???
Really helpful. Thank you! I've also been struggling with brown (wild) rice forever so will be trying the same method.
Will the bean button work as well?
Thank you, that was very str8 to the point 🏄🏿👍🏿
I will go for 30 minutes. I think it will be a bit firmer. Thanks for the tutorial. Cheers from Winnipeg, Canada
Which instapot do you have?

Have you ever thought about reserving that liquid to use as an egg white substitute? You can use it to make meringues, mousses, and Italian buttercream.
Is an Instant Pot like a rice cooker? I use my rice cooker to fix easy meals.
