Instant Pot French Potted Yogurt

After trying many French potted yogurt recipes, I’ve come up with one that has been successful every single time. I use an Instant Pot Ultra, which makes the first …
If your milk cools down below that 110-115 range do you have to restart the process or can you heat up your milk again?
BTW… my bad if I haven't mentioned before. I said I use Fairlife and then said don't use lactose free, but Fairlife is lactose free. 🙂 I have tried a few more milks and none work as well.
My sister and I have tried this recipe twice, using Oui as a starter, and it always comes out loose and with A TON of whey. After straining that away we're left with 2 1/2 jars of semi-thick yogurt. HELP, what could we be doing wrong?! Lol 🤣
Thanks for taking the time to make this video. We were just considering using our oui jars to store homemade yogurt, and were so happy to find this! Would’ve never thought to set the filled jars straight in the instapot, which is also pretty new to us. Figured we’d pour the yogurt into the jars after* the yogurt was done but this is much more time efficient. I didn’t know you could use jars and those lids in the pot! Your friends and family are very lucky and we benefit from the tutoring, at our own risk. Very useful; can’t wait to try your methods and appreciate you talking us through… We enjoy oui yogurts but want to try making our own… fun to be had. Thanks!
I apologize. Work and Home just keep me so busy … new recipes coming soon. Remember… I'm not a professional cook or chef. Just a guy who loves to cook for his family and who's friends keep asking for the recipes. So please be kind. 🙂

I love oui and your yogurt looks great. Will definitely try. Tell me how did you remove those indestructible labels on the oui pots?
Can anything else beside sugar and vanilla be added?
Do I need an "instant pot"?? Can I use just a simple pot? And where do I get the yogurt cultures in the US?
Where on the tart scale is Oui – about how many hours for a similar taste? And does your recipe create a similar sweetness?
Could you comment on how the texture is different from a cold start? I was just curious before putting in this work. Thanks
It's my first time making yogurt. I followed yur instructions. Set it 11hrs, medium. 1 bottle of oui for starter. I have the ultra. My yogurt isn't as thick as yours on the video. And is not smooth. I dunno wer it went wrong ☹
Do you have to add water inside the pot ?
Whats the name of the culture ?
EQUIPMENT
Instant Pot
12 Yogurt Jars
Aluminum Foil
Kitchen Thermometer
Whisk
Bowl with pouring spout (helpful, but not nec)
INGREDIENTS
1/2 Gallon of Ultra Pasteurized Milk
2/3 – 1 Cup of Sugar
1 Container of Oui Yogurt (warmed to room temperature)
2 Tea Spoons of Vanilla Extract
METHOD
Set the Instant Pot on Ultra Mode, Custom Temp 185 degrees
add the milk and set timer for 30 minutes
cook with the lid off
After 30 minutes, skim off any skin on top and whisk in the sugar
Remove the inner pot and let cool for 20 minutes, then use the Kitchen Thermometer to check it.
When the milk is 110-115 degrees, add the Yogurt and Vanilla Extract and Whisk thoroughly.
Wait 10 Minutes.
Pour into Jars (it would be easier to do this using a Bowl that has a spout, and if you use one, you could also have someone else wash the Inner Pot at the same time, for the next step)
Cover the jars with Aluminum Foil
Put the jars into the Instant Pot (the washed Inner Pot)
Put on the lid.
Got to Yogurt Mode (medium temp) and set the timer for 11 hours.
After the time is up, refrigerate before eating.
Can you make other flavors beside vanilla? And how would you,do that? Also where can you purchase the oui lids? Thank you!
Thanks for posting this. Could I do this mason jars and mason lids?…. Leaving it directly in the pot, then straining it later? Thanks!
Thank you I have been wondering if I had to do it in the jars or not. And i found that oui sells lids now for their jars a tad less bulky.
Your vid was great! Have you tried doing this with no dairy?
Where do you buy the lids? The link wasn’t in the video.
