I just watched your video and my wife and I bought the same Duo Evo Plus 6 qt pot about two months ago from Kohl's Department store and we got the C8 ERROR. We called customer service and they trouble shot, but didn't know the reason. As you noted, incorrect pot, but of course we only had the correct pot. Customer service told us to take back pot to Kohl's which we did for same model replacement. The replacement in saute did the same thing with C8 message. My wife went to Facebook and others had same experience. The quick fix is, after you push the saute button twice, then select custom saute which ranges from 1 to 6 heat setting. Select 4 or 5. Setting 6 which is automatic is too hot. We also got a "burn" error before or after the C8 message. Since my wife has been switching to custom saute number 4, a lower heat, we have not seen C8 message anymore.

Instant Pot was bought out last year by Cornell Capital which is the parent company of Pyrex, Corelle and I think a couple other brands. I think that allowed them to amp up innovation of new products. Not sure about the impact on quality control.

Well…. If it's really dead and they send you a new one hooray for you

But I heard recently the inner pots are induction friendly, so if you have to toss it hang onto the pot!

I had to contact customer service a few weeks ago. I got a duo nova from amazon right after Christmas. I used it maybe 4 times after the first few times of use it got to where wouldn't turn into place probably. And then I noticed that the handle was cracked. It never dropped or fell or anything. I wondered if it was because of the lid not clicking into place properly
Anyway I never heard anything back from instant pot with the ticket. So I contacted amazon. It was 2 days past the window to return of course. But when I explained that I was hoping to just exchange it, they agreed to send me a new one and then I sent my broken one back to Amazon. The new one cooks different that the other one did. It comes to pressure much faster. It's the same model so I thought that was weird. Anyway, I was glad that Amazon came through because instant pot never even answered me.
    Good luck with yours.

Oh, no, so dissapointing! I love watching you cook in Evo Plus. Hoping Instant Brands takes care of you! I voided my warranty from day 1 with my 6-qt Evo Plus since November. I air fry with Mealthy CrispLid & pressure cook at least twice a day & have been dry baking in it too. So far so good, no problems. I would totally buy another if it dies, maybe not air frying in case that caused. Love this model & poor little 3-qt ultra has been relegated to mashed potatoes, rice & side dishes. Looking forward to hearing how you fare with IP.

Can you explain how you send in a picture of the silver label and the receipt to IP company? I have no idea how to do that. Just in case I need to know this when my pot goes out. It freaks me out to know that I may have to do tech things that I don't understand!

I had the C-8 error while
Sautéing also. Unplugged & waited a bit. Turned it back on it was fine. I haven’t used it a whole lot since because we are remodeling our kitchen. I sure hope this isn’t the foreshock to something bigger. Thanks for the video. Keep us posted how things turn out.

I had a issue with my EVO plus 8 QT several days ago. In fact, after I say your unboxing, I ordered it from Instant Brands. The water temp in the sous vide mode would not got over 139. The first time I used the Sous Vide mode was 3 weeks ago with a roast (round tip 3.5 lbs in food saver vacuum bag) I set the EVO to 24 house at 145 degees. Throughout the cycle, using my Thermopen, the water temp was not ever hotter than 139 degrees. I blew it off as I did not set the temp correctly. So the last time I used the Sous Vide mode I focused on the time and temp on another round tip (Costco of course 🙂 ) So after all that I called Instant pot. They told me the pics to take and send them in to a address they gave me in a email. The day after I emailed them the information they required I got another email from Instant Pot saying they were sending me me a "replacement". I assumed it would be the heating/container part of the EVO, but no, 2 days after that, they sent me a brand new complete Instant Pot Duo EVO plus 8 qt an exact replacement for my EVO issue. I have not used the Sous Vide function on the new one yet, still eating the last round tip form last week. BTW if you guys reading this very long post want to know how a Sous Vide treats a round tip the only description is it tastes and feels like Filet Mignon, only a fork is allowed for cutting. The Au Jus is simply beyond belief. Know you know… :). Indigo, just you keep it up please, just one of a kind… all done, … Ted.

I messed up royally the second time I tried using my 8 quart Instant Pot Evo Duo Plus. I had done the water test and it worked fine. The second time I tried it, it stopped itself and gave a burn message. As I was just trying to cook eggs and there was the correct amount of water, couldn't figure it out. I was congratulating myself that I still had the original box and packing materials as I thought I got a lemon. Then I realized that I had stored a 6 quart inner pot in the 8 quart machine! As soon as I figured that out I took the smaller pot out and found a better spot to store it. The 8 quart has worked just fine since. Thankfully, the machine's safety features saved my bacon🥓. And the eggs! 🥚 They cooked just as they should. 😁

So sorry to hear this. I just bought the 6 quart duo evo plus and my sister who is a very first time pressure cooker user ever just got the 8 quart like yours. I truly hope this isn't an ongoing thing with this duo evo pots. Good luck and I will be anxious to see what the company does for you. By rights, they should send you a new one. Take care…. Claudia

it happened to me,they told me they would send a replacement,Iwas going to throw it away, but thought I would just have a look, turned it upside, unscrewed the bottom panel, couldnt see anything, screwed it back, turned on the pot,and it started ok. It has thrown up the C error once or twice, but all I have to do is turn it upside down and give it a tap,and its starts ok. That was over 16 months ago,and touch wood, its never repeated the problem and worked good
