Century egg jook or porridge is a Chinese comfort food that reminds me of childhood. Before the Instant Pot, I would make porridge on the stove and have to watch it the whole time.
This is an easy Chinese Instant Pot recipe that anyone can do.
Since getting the Instant Pot, I make century egg porridge only in the Instant Pot since it’s so much easier. Drop in the ingredients and go! No more nursing a pot over the stove.

Do you know what the water ratio would be if I use brown rice
Shouldn't you rinse out your raw rice 3-4 times before you cook it in the pot?
Wat grains do u use? Dun u need to rinse the rice b4 cooking? And the part abt quick release… applies to all wet cooking also, like stews? Tq
have you considered 'marinating' the rice with the thousand year old eggs before cooking ?
Do you rinse the rice before putting it in the instapot?

I would cook the egg with the congee…So the flavor of the egg is also in the congee. I'm surprised you add it at the end. I guess it's personal preference
I would just slice the pork throw it into a zip loc Bach and salt the pork. Salt overnight or at least 3 hours.
i don't really like pork…. would it taste different if i don't add it? or if i put fish slices in there?
I wonder if I can substitute ground turkey for the pork.
‘choose the lead free ones’… do they really sell century eggs which arent lead free?
awesome, I can't wait to try it! I just got my instant pot and appreciated the "how to" video. I use chicken in my jook instead of pork and will skip the eggs 🙂. Since I'm usually making jook when I'm sick, it's nice to not have to stand over it stirring. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this recipe! My mother is no longer around to teach me how to make it. Now, like you, I don't have to buy it from the restaurant. Much healthier too! I added sesame oil in the end for extra flavor. I'd imagine garlic would be yummy also!
Those black eggs looked scary. I started laughing when you described something that had grossed you out. Is there some other product one could use, other than those eggs?
