    Try adding more flour to your meat before sauteeing it. Adding less water will not make the stew liquid thicker…it will just make the stew dryer. Also…you can add a little cornstarch to some hot liquid in a separate container once the stew is done, then add the mix back into the stew to thicken it.

    I guess the advantage is speed? Meaning, as someone who has cooked roast beef stew for ~40 years, I'm used to just throwing everything in to our slow cooker and stirring it very hour or so. Easy as it gets. Here, there are multiple steps, but imagine it's the time-saving where the advantage is realized? Basically trying to figure out why I would cook it in our Instantpot vs our crock pot.
