There are some comments floating around the web about how using either of these two products may seem a bit more cumbersome especially if you are needing to cook more quantities four more mouths to feed, such as a couple kids. In most ways I would agree with this sentiment and having a dedicated air fryer oven would probably be better. But I feel this video would've benefited more by going deeper with the dehydrate function that doesn't need special consideration to limiting your meat to just two or three pieces, single layer. For the one reader reading this that may not know….you can make healthy chips from veggies, bananas, etc, beef jerky (I saw a video illustrate the jerky process), etc. So in that sense, these lids could have a worthwhile reason, possibly.

This is the first video I see that compares these two lids together. Excellent job and I'm a fan. Thank you for the upload.

Great comparison, Nili. I must say I am impressed with the design ideas behind the Mealthy, particularly the see through lid and its compatibility with other pressure cookers whether made by Instant Pot or somebody else. The major difference between the two is that the Instant Pot lid uses standard radiant heat — it's basically an upside down coil stove burner — while the Mealthy uses infrared heat. Both have their advantages and disadvantages. If I were to personally make a choice, I'd go with the Mealthy simply because it allows me more options in buying a pressure cooker but I can't see anyone going wrong with either product.

I would buy the instant pot lid it does not have hologen light
like other one that is very unhealthy, read about unhealthy halogen on google. The light does not need to touch the food to be unhealthy. the heat from light is unhealthy. Plus halogen lights do not last very long.

We purchased our Mealthy air fryer lid before the Instant Pot air fryer became available. Having the see through lid is very handy to check on the cooking progress. I also like the simple controls. The unit works great, my only issue is the clean-ability of the Mealthy cooking basket. I replaced it with a unit with holes punched in it versus the wire. So far, I’m really happy with the Mealthy air fryer, it’s really well designed.

hi there, I know you have the IP duo evo plus, because I bought mine based on your review! I'm so glad to see you using it in your videos, thanks.

My question is: Does the Mealthy crisp lid fit on our DEPs? I do know the IP air fryer does not because of the handles. My stove broiler is out of commission and thought the Mealthy might be a solution. Also, can it be used on a regular stock pot on the stove? thanks for your great videos! They've helped me be comfortable with my IP, and adventurous as well.

I recently bought the Instant Pot Air Fryer Lid but after watching this video I'm thinking I should have gotten the Mealthy CrispLid. The Mealthy has a higher cooking temp, can be used on a 6 and 8 quart pot, I like being able to see my food cooking and it just looks better than the Instant Pot Fryer Lid. So, you never said in the video which one you liked more.

i have been loving your comparison videos! i originally was following you for your THM videos. i got the duo crisp for Christmas and i guess i was just hoping it was all ceramic coating covered instead of non stick. i am so sad about that! do you know if mealthy makes a basket to fit in the 8 qt? im hoping to buy that separately to at least take away some of the risk. i never noticed before but now i can swear i can smell the fumes!!

I think I’m going with the IP. It looks like the heating unit on the Mealthy is just a thin wire coiled up and subject to break if knocked against the counter or PC, where the IP has a thick solid coil. I also like the dark surface of the basket which will absorb heat rather than reflecting it away.

Wonderful review of both products, thanks for that. As much as I love my Instant Pot, I am thinking if I decide to get one of these it will be the Mealthy for me. I like the smallness and trivet with the basket and the glass see thru lid. Everything about that one spoke to me, sorry Instant Pot. So thanks again for your honest input on both of these, so much appreciated. Now, when to get the Meathy….. Claudia

Thanks for the comparison. Great informative video. I’m very happy with my choice of the Mealthy crisplid. The shorter original basket works well enough for me. I have a separate air fryer if I need to cook larger amounts. ❤️

Mealthy is just a cheap infrared and believe me they are crap the bulbs go after a couple of months and cannot change instant pot a legit air fryer lid last forever and are much better at cooking if you want the infrared you can get the whole set lid bowl tools for 30 quid don't waste your money on a Mealthy .

Another great video! I got the Mealthy lid for my birthday just before Christmas. It’s really handy as a single person to just cook a few things and no have to heat up the whole oven.

Based on this comparison, I’m glad I got the Mealthy. I think the deep basket in the IP is a waste. Air frying doesn’t do well in layers.

Thank you, Nili 🙏🏻 this was so helpful for me as I’m currently trying to decide which to get since space in my kitchen is limited for an entire air fryer appliance. I appreciate you taking the time to compare these two! Saved me lots of research time.

Thank you for another thorough and informative video!! I think I’ll stick with my original mealthy. The dehydration function is cool, but I think I can hack it with what I have! Thank you!!
