I use almost a gallon of milk and I add 2 packages of powdered milk. Makes yogurt thicker. Also I had problems with yogurt sticking to my IP stainless steel pot. I purchased the IP coated pot and now no sticking.

When I ordered my Instant Pot I assumed it was going to let me program the exact temperature I wanted but apparently there is only a less normal and more selection. Only the less and normal will make low and high temperature yogurt and the more says boil when you select it but doesn't quite ever reach boiling. You move it by repeatedly pressing the yogurt button to toggle it between less, normal and more. It's the same for all the other buttons only the temperatures are relative to the function selected. The exact degrees are a secret that can only be discovered by opening the lid and using a thermometer. But doing so will affect the cooking time and temperature and mess up your cooking!

I wish it would let me select by degrees instead of less, normal or more. I guess that would have been too much to ask for.

Just got my sister an instapot and she is having trouble with yogurt. I noticed that her pressure is automatically set for low. Mine (older pot) is set to medium. Mine produces nice yogurt at 8:30 hours. Hers is not doing that. It is still runny. How much more time do I need to give it since hers set to low pressure? Thanks!!

Thank you for you for your demo, it worked really well, I will say my yogurt was still lite, I cooked it for 9 1/4 hrs, and strained it through Euro Cuisine GY50 Greek Yogurt Maker abt 1 1/2 hrs, ( from Amazon). So how do we make butter milk in the Instant Pot? I'd like to learn all the cool things you can make out of yogurt.

Thanks for this video. I have made my own yogurt for years in the oven or crock pot, and I'm thinking of buying an instant pot. This looks way easier than wrapping the crock in a towel and praying it doesn't cool off too fast. A couple of notes: if you want thick yogurt without straining, you can add powdered milk before you warm it up. Also, if you strain it for about 4 hours it becomes the same consistency as cream cheese, and has a similar flavor.

When I get done w/ YOGT first cycle, I open lid and when temp drops to 115F, I add culture, I push YOGT again and it says "BOIL" (not "8:00") and reheats the milk (too hot to touch, so well above 115F). What am I doing wrong?
