On the first recipe (chicken and rice) it looked like she added cooked rice but you added uncooked. Can you clarify? Recipe looks so good!!

I always enjoy these sprinkled in with your other content. They’re fun and you’ve found some winners in the couple of TikTok videos you’ve done!

My fave (without tasting, of course) is the last one. But that’s because it’s almost identical to a TikTok one you posted before that used orzo instead of bigger pasta and Italian seasoning instead of individual spices. And this one added more parmesan and skipped the wine. I’m sure she saw the original recipe and looked in her pantry and chose to use what she had (pasta) and skip what she didn’t have (spices) or didn’t like (wine). Then she added more of what she loved (parmesan). But I loved that recipe and I know I’d like this one as well.

Actually, that might make for an interesting video and be useful to those who haven’t cooked a lot. I know when I started out, I didn’t realize how easy it is to make things my own by subbing what I had on hand or what I liked and how easy it is to add or take things away. I passed up a lot of recipes simply because I didn’t have or didn’t like a particular ingredient or because it was for chicken and all I had was pork, etc. I know you show it all the time when you’re cooking (“I don’t have Doritos so I’m using Fritos”) but it might be fun to do a side by side video like these that are so close but end up being so different.

And I learned something new – I honestly didn’t know you could buy nacho cheese in a can! 🤦🏼‍♀️ It doesn’t change my life, but I’m just wondering how I’m earth I never knew that! 🤣🤣🤣

Kristen. Have you ever made a dorito salad?
Get your lettuce ready ( chopped, broken or cut) add tomatoes chopped, 1 LG bad of nacho cheese doritoes crushed and 1 bottle of Catalina French dressing. My mother was making this in the late 70's – 80's or whenever doritoes were made. It is really good.

I'm not huge on sun dried tomatoes but maybe it won't be so bad mixed in with all the other ingredients. Do you think jarred roasted red peppers might be a good substitute?

I've been making taco rice for years. I don't add nacho cheese in it, but I do top it with Sour cream, shredded cheese, lettuce, salsa, tomatoes, and avocado. Sometimes I even serve it in taco shell bowls. I don't like salsa verdea so I definitely know I wouldn't be able to do that.

Never makes sense to see people drain grease after seasoning. It's simple…but meat with less fat so it doesn't have to be drained and can cook in the spices or…cook, drain the grease, then season and add your onion and add a little water to braise a bit until liquid evaporates. When you drain the grease after seasoning, you're throwing away so much flavor. Smh also for the taco rice, I don't think the original maker used 2 one cups of rice. I think she used 2 1/2 cups. Hers was a lot wetter than yours.

I would’ve just stopped before the canned cheese lol. I think it would’ve tasted better just like it was. Your daughters are beautiful. I’m not if I’ve told you before, but I think you look like Alicia Silverstone.

Old recipe I got in 1980s. Pour 1 packet of cup of onion soup in bottom of oblong pan. Pour 1 cup of rice over it. Then mix cr. of chicken, mushroom or both with the water required and pour some of it over rice. Then place chicken on top and cover up rest of cr. soup. You may need 3 cns of soup depending on kind of chicken. I like thighs. . Bake at 350 for 90 minutes. Rice comes our fantastic. I haven't figured out how to do it in the instant pot, yet.

Kristen so good to see you! I’m definitely an Instant Pot gal so I have an aversion to all the water being poured into meat with these recipes. That said I just might try the first one in the IP. Your taste tester is adorable and oh those beautiful 👀 she has!
Thanks for all you do for us, love to all! 🤗💕❤️🤩💗
