Great ideas!!! I need to stock mine with some of these. We are only a family of two so I don’t know how well we could get through everything. Do you have any suggestions for only a two person household?

    Hi April,
I too grew up with the knowledge that a pantry was just a regular part of living. I have always had one. Over the years it's been refined. I started by buying all of the things I remembered my relatives having but came to know that my budget and living circumstances dictated what I should include in my pantry. Over the years my tastes and diet have changed and so my pantry has changed to suit.
You did a great job in explaining this part of life for everyone. If I was starting out I feel that I would know exactly what to do with the information you provided. I think a good follow up would be how to maintain it.

With your concerns of everyone needing to start a panty, it would be nice if you found a family in your area that can't do this on their budget and start a pantry for them. Times are very hard for so many in this country, at this particular time.

$100 is a great start but even if you only have $5 or $10 per week, 5 cans and a bag of grains or beans per week will grow a pantry. The most important part is if someone hasn’t started, they need to start now.
