LEISA HELP! CAN U LET ME KNOW WHERE TO FIND A REPLACEMENT VENT PIPE LIKE URS? My Ace Hardware can nonlonger order it, these other sites with different part numbers and im just unsure of what to get. I took my canner in to my county extension to be tested about 2.5 yrs ago, before Rona, and I think the lady there changed out my vent pipe to fit her Guage to test my canner. I went yo use my vintage presto canner and I noticed my vent pipe looked weird. I almost purchased a new vent pipe but my 1971 canner has parts numbers that no longer resemble today's numbers. I was a fool and didn't buy it when I had the option. NOW I CANNOT FIND THIS LITTLE DOOHICKEY ANYWHERE!!!! I'm so frustrated bc i have a beautiful GINORMOUS, COULD BE FUNCTIONAL, canner to add to my All-American 921 to use in canning sessions. Its like a slap in my face that it sits here UNUSED & tested to function, and no one knows where's my ORIGINAL VENT PIPE !

Than you so much for sharing this. I eat mostly animal products, and people mainly talk about canning veg, fruit, and sauces. But I needed the help with canning meats since I'm so afraid of spoiling the meat. 😬 I very much appreciate your videos on the various proteins and the tips on alternate lids.
    Cheers! 😊

Oh.. so sad to see such beautifully marbled beef going into a canning jar. I can and enjoy canned meat. We feed out steers with grain and corn to create that marbling, very time consuming and it’s expensive! I use my more lean cuts for canning.

Try light coffee in your jars! You won't be sorry. I use watered down but have ate it like this since a child and my Mom found an antique cook book with the coffee recipe in it. It's basically like a beef stew with all the veggies you like but the coffee added. It's so good!

I canned some beef roast, pork and steak in pint jars. Everything went perfectly buy when I took them out the liquid on them wS only about 1/2 way up the jars on about half of them. The meat was up more tho without liquid. My question would be is there a rule a out how much if the meat has to be covered with liquid when raw pack canning? They all sealed great and no sign if any siphoning in the canner at all. I can't find any info about this anywhere besides this video.

Why do I end up with some fat leaving the jar and collecting in the bottom of my pressure cooker. Jar seam to seal but greasy.
Please help me understand. Is it still safe.

Question: Do I have to restart the timer if I'm supposed to be at 11 pounds pressure and it goes up to 12 and I turn it down a bit to get it back to 11? Or do I only have to restart the .75 minite timer of it goes below 11 pounds of pressure.

This is a great video. I really appreciate how you break it down and make it very simple, relaxed and easy-going. Canning can be stressful and you manage to take the stress right out of it

Just watching now. I had to laugh at your comment about the cost of meats coming down, considering today’s prices. I’m going to be doing up some roast and pork loin tomorrow…in larger chunks and longer time. ❤️ From TX

I just did my first cannning of beef and I was wondering that once the jars have cooled down doesn’t mean kind of stick together? I turned one jar upside down and it seems like the meat was in a big clump.
