Must be that time of year. I just made our granola about 4 days ago. We use walnuts, almonds and pecans as well as organic non-sweetened coconut flakes. I had so many open jars of honey that needed to be finished up so I used that with the coconut oil. We normally use maple syrup in place of honey but just not this time. Everyone in our house just loves it as a topping or a cereal. Doesn't last very long that's for sure.

Thanks for video. I have made homemade granola in the past and have only added nuts. If you wanted to add dried fruit or chocolate chips when is the best time to add while cooling or after fully cooled?

I would love to make some for my grandson but he will only eat it in a bar form. He is very active in competitive sports. He likes to grab a health bar after practice. Do you have a recipe in bar form that I could make for him? Thanks for video and recipe if you have one.

My ingredients for granola are sitting on the counter ready to go – how did you know? I also had flax seed meal for homemade cereal sitting out, also. I eat granola as often as I can – on top of plain yogurt for breakfast is my favorite. QUESTION: What other things could I use flax seed meal for? My recipe called for 2 tbsp and I had to buy 1 pound bag! I wanted to try making my own gran cereal as I normally eat bran flakes on top of my yogurt when I don't have granola. Also, I'm canning a ton of chicken bone broth and have related cubes of raw chicken marinating in balsamic vinegar. Any suggestions? Also have left over white rice so that would be good together if I fry the meat. I didn't realize that flax seed meal was gluten free so your recipe would be great for my SIL gluten free diet. THANKS!!
