In the description, it says to add two teaspoons vanilla extract, but the video didn’t do it, so I added it in anyways and it tasted 100x better 😋

My recent bakes have been flopping like no ones business but this recipe came out so wonderfully. My batter came out more runny but still worked. Beautiful cake. Thank you because it gave me more motivation to keep on baking and trying new recipes.

Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Frosting has always been my Fav Cake. This Matilda Cake with over 30 million views and over 300 thousand likes has got to be good. I just DL'd and Printed the recipe on Their Website. My Wife does catering. She is a Champ Chef with all the hardware in her kitchen. With a little Bribing, I should have this cake recipe in my mouth very soon. Thank You, Rachel.

This is my go to chocolate cake recipe since many years… Didn't have to turn back ever since… I reduce the recipe to one haf and made a 2/3 tiered cake for special occasions or weekends… Usually I bake plain cakes to cut down the sugar content from the frostings… Today I tried with cream cheese frosting for the first time and it was heaven not overly sweet… I made some alternations wd the frosting recipe too… I reduced the sugar content to 1/4 for haf the recipe and skipped adding in any milk as the fat percent of my butter is below 50% the addition of any extra liquid would destroy the texture of the final frosting…
Here is my frosting recipe for haf the recipe
    *Butter : 185gms
    *Cream cheese : 144gms
    *Icing sugar : 2.5 – 2.75cups
    *Cocoa powder : 3/4cups

I’m actually making this for one of my teachers for teacher appreciation day because they like chocolate, and I’m hoping that this somehow works out for me, since I literally can’t bake a moist cake for some reason.

I only have access to Dutch processed cocoa POWDER, and 1 1/2 cups of cocoa is a lot. Can I use less cocoa powder and add brewed coffee to boost the flavor? BTW, my country produces cocoa, so a local brand is fresher than Gershey's.

Hi Rachel! What brands of cocoa powder did you use for both the cake and the frosting. Because the brand of cocoa powder you used for the frosting is much darker in comparison to the one you used for the cake.

I’d appreciate if you could mention the names of the brands of cocoa powder you used for both the cake and the frosting.

Thank you so much for sharing this recipe rachel. It looks delicious.
