Rachel, i don't know why you add extra oil to the ground beef, because the beef makes its own oil, and the ground beef is way too greasy…

Just a small correction to this meal. Shepherds pie is made with lamb mince. Cottage pie uses beef mince.

Ground lamb is Shepard's pie.
Originally shepherd's pie was made with lamb … hence the word SHEPHERD. When made with beef, its called cottage pie

It’s an alright recipe except for all the extra crap in those beautiful potatoes. Salt, pepper, butter, little milk. Also, the potatoes didn’t look browned enough for me. Otherwise, this is a great dish.
