You are wonderful! You make me miss Puerto Rico so much! Wow, off to make pasteles now!!!
I was with my sister, cousin(s), and aunts when we were making them. It is a LONG process and expensive! But it was worth it!
Thank you so very much for the wonderful video!!! I just found your channel tonight and am enjoying it so much! My late husband was Puerto Rican and use to tell stories about making these as a family. He also talked of as you grew your job would change. Again thank you so much!!

do you have his recipe written out?
Hi I have a question for you. How do you avoid watery / soft pasteles when using the food processor? I even added one extra plΓ‘tano next time but again they came out so soft!
This is my third Christmas without my grandfather who always made us pasteles. I hope to continue the tradition with my family. Thanks to this video I feel ready!
wow memories
Boricua here from a 100% PR family and my mom has never been very helpful in teaching me to cook. We made pasteles last year (which were amazing) but they took us 8 hours to cook because she kept walking away from me π You've taught me so much already, Ida! Thank you for all of your recipes and helping me cook like a real boricua π΅π·
Thanks to you each Navidad I make Pasteles & I most certainly go by your recipe. I also told my niece & this is the recipe she uses.
I do have a question, how to make pasteles de yuca? It'll be awesome if you show us how.
Thank you again!!!!
My grandmother made a few variations of pasteles; de masa, de yuca, de arroz, y de repollo. The cabbage ones were my favorite. Back then those were the only one I would eat and after she passed away, I didnβt eat them for years. Now I want to make a batch and this video was very helpful. Thanks Ida for all the great videos on how to make delicious Puerto Rican dishes.
This is fantastic!
How many pasteles does this amount of ingredients make
Garbanzos & raisins? NEVER. Thanks for the demo.

Garbanzos… WTFF!!!π€’

Some of the comments on your video make me so angry! But thank you for the content. I'm making these with my mom today. VIVA PUERTO RICO π΅π· β€

I love watching your shows your so detailed when you describe the ingredients and add jokes and laughter but also you remind me of my aunt who made these for us from Puerto Rico and when I see you its almost like home with her
