    I live in North Carolina and I learned to make kvass 3 years ago I find it very interesting that you don't add a teaspoon of yeast even with the rye yeast in the bread I thought it would be enough. this is the first ive seen this I'm actually in the waiting period for my 8л of kvass I started yesterday morning I make my own black rye here just for the kvass I also make beet kvass this I drink every morning instead of кофе. Beet квас is a Tonic so I don't recommend more than one glass of it a day beets are extremely powerful. I really liked your video thanks for sharing with love from north Carolina USA.

    If you haven't heard there's also white kvass, based on starter made from rye flour (basically bread starter). Its not that popular, at least in area where I live, but it's an old traditional recipe (east european I believe) with 'right yeast'. Never tried it before but want to. Obv. you need good quality flour for that recipe and patience I guess 😀

    Uhm with cold water and no yeast you'll get next to zero fermentation. That will just be rye bread tea really.

    The water needs to be boiling when you add the bread and raisins.

    Then let it sit overnight. Filter the bread and raisins away. Add sugar. More raisins and yeast and let it sit in fairly warm temperature for 3 days.
