This Popo is sooooo cute, mine had a much thicker Hawaii pidgin accent. I found this wonderful video looking for notes to recreate hers. She never those aromatic vegetables but as a lover of Italian food I think Sofrito in the Turkey broth is brilliant— I’m going to add them, some Konbu for natural MSG and nod to my Japanese half, and try tea bagging Chinese herbs (star anise, cinnamon, etc.) in mine; no veggies in the final soup but cook times and notes on straining/stirring super helpful!!! I think the topping choices are fantastic. Thanks for this wonderful vid!

Thanks for the video. My Chinese grandmother (Popo) used to make jook for us. When I moved to the Mainland, I used to cook a big pot of it and it eat for a couple of days until it was gone.

some places will put the 1000 yr old egg (acquired taste) I love it. or you can use ground beef. I'm not a fan of veggies in it so I just make it without the veggies. The filipino calls it Arroz Caldo my mil puts tripe in it. Only thing I ate when I had the flu
