This can be made in 12-14 minutes with a pressure cooker. Sorry, but this version is too soupy and not colorful. Needs more tomato sauce or a tablespoon of tomato paste. My grandmother used shortribs and threw in a chunk of fresh ginger.

Boil for 2hrs by the time I do that the water evaporates . So what do u do add more water?
Our Hawaiian style version included cabbage, because we had a big family On the side we would have takuan or kim chee. Mahalo for the shared memory.
You should try thickening it with a little cornstarch slurry at the end.
