My instant pot calls for 18oz of water when using the pressure setting.I've noticed many recipes call for less
liquid such as this recipe.I'm confused as what to follow, the recipe or the instruction booklet.

Great recipe. My changes? Preheat the IP on saute for ten minutes before adding the ingredients. Add 1 1/2 cups of low-sodium chicken broth to inner pot. Insert trivet. I wrapped the veg in aluminum foil and placed them on the trivet. Seasoned the hens with some spices from Penzey's. The hens were frozen. Placed them on top of veg. Pressure cook 45 minutes. Then I browned them for 8 minutes with the crisper lid (a really worthwhile add-on). Pot liquor made a very tasty gravy.

This is great, but I'm looking for how to cook 4 cornish game hens at once. Is that possible in an 8 qt Duo Plus? And, would these times work withOUT the potatoes included?

Just discovered you! I was searching for easy pressure cooker recipes for Cornish hens and found this. QUESTION: How did you arrive at 16 minutes (on high most likely) and then a 6-minute natural release? Each hen weighed about 1 1/2 pounds or 22 0z. or so? I saw another source saying a guideline was 10 minutes per pound. Please tell me how 22 oz. x 3 equaled 16 minutes + 6 N. Release. Thank you so much! They looked good! Also, is your cooker 6 quarts or 8?
