Gravy mix? I expect way more from allrecipes. Missing all kinds of spices to make it truly awesome. Onion powder, garlic powder, celery salt, tomato paste, paprika, etc.
Had me until “use brown gravy mix packet”
When I made this, I used dark soy sauce (is a sweeter sauce and not as strong as regular soy sauce) instead of regular soy sauce and instead of two cups of water I used one cup of water and one cup of red wine. I did not add salt because the dark soy sauce and Worcester sauce already have enough salt.
However, I would recommend using an eighth of a cup or even less than that of soy sauce and Worcester sauce verses what this recipe is calling for in order to achieve a better balanced flavor unless you REALLY love the taste of Worcester.
vegetable oil and soy sauce? toxic.
Gravy mix is salty too. Skip it and thicken sauce with cornstarch and water slurry.
As for the recipe. I don’t recommend soy sauce or salt. I use a can of french onion condensed soup, Worcestershire sauce and a beef broth (fill the empty can of soup with beef broth, one can of broth if doubling a recipe, use 1 can of beef broth for every can of condensed soup that you use). After 2 hours of cooking on low, thicken the broth, while cooking, with a slurry made of 2 tbls of cornstarch to 1/3 of cold water and slowly stir in little by little, until you reach the gravy consistency that you like. With this combination, and some pepper, you don’t need any salt nor gravy packet.
I tried this recipe. It was horrendous too much salt with the wostershire and soy sauce.
I followed this recipe. It was nasty. Tasted more like salt than anything else. Eliminate the soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce
That's awesome! I just made it for dinner.
Thank you.
Is the gravy mix added at the very end; after 2 hours of simmer?
The fact that you use packet of gravy mix makes this a no go.
Followed all the directions and wanted to taste and oh my gosh so salty yuck !!!! I almost freaked out because I was cooking dinner for friends and thank GOD I poured the sauce out in just enough time the meat cooked in the sauce and soaked up flavor. Didn’t even put the gravy packet because i had a feeling it wasn’t going to go well. There are a ton of hit and miss recipes on this channel lol. Meat came out great with baked potatoes and I made sautéed mushrooms from Laura Vitale that she showed you how to make it into mushrooms and a nice little gravy, poured it over the meat and it was amazing!
I’ll make this tonight. Thank you
I was looking for something to cook and now I found it. Easy as pie.
Blahh
But when do u add the gravy? After the 2 hour simmer?
Use high end steak instead of stew meat. Costs more, but way better quality, eliminating those tough, chewy pieces that you get with stew meat.
Lost me at the packaged gravy mix.
you lost me at 1 hours and a half
Why add salt when you put Worchestershire, and soy sauce in??? Why add the salt? Makes no sense
i only got one tip !!!!!!!!!!
Can I use 2 cups red wine instead of water
why not use a bit of flour, milk cream herbs and spices to make your own fresh natural sauce? using this powder bullshit ruins this whole recipe.
thank you
I add campbells beefy mushroom instead of gravy mix. this is a great recipe! thanks for posting!
can i use flower snd water instead
soy sauce, salt and gravy mix… too much salt!
beautiful idea.green peppers added could work too.thanks for sharing.YUMMY
Use low sodium soy sauce and don't add the tsp. Salt. This cuts out over half the sodium. I made it both ways and there is a big difference.
that's looks easy&great 2try&make.thanks.
I never heard of beef tips before. Looks good
it seems so delicious 😆👍😊 but my mom cooks it different without soy sause or worsester sause and it's still delicious!! And the beef meat is so delicious and healthy and contains a lot of vitamins and iron! it's better than pizza or burgers or other fast food 😁💜
i recommend serving it on buckwheat
Good recipe, but why put salt if using low sodium soy sauce? i wouldn't put an salt at all. but it still looked good, tfs!
lol, uses low sodium soy sauce then adds a high sodium gravy pack. Better off looking for a recipe that doesn't use the gravy pack if you're that picky. But I'd do that anyway – the gravy packs taste awful, better off using your own ingredients.
i have missed this narrator for soooooo long omg. its just not the same without her. other ppl sound weird and some vids are without narrator which is shitty.
Yay narrator in this one
