Aquafaba is a brilliant vegan egg replacer that can whip up into meringue. This video will show you how to make aquafaba from …
🥂 cheers to those who was looking to make foamy cocktails 🍹 using aquafaba instead of egg whites
Vegan mayo and hummus.
1:36 I'm indian and in my household we use a pressure cooker to cook chickpeas. 3 whistles on a pressure cooker will do. No need to cook for an hour.
Can you freeze the aquafaba??
Thanks, Mary !!!
I used to think that aquafaba is just the liquid in a cracked open a can of chickpeas. If it is really this much effort to soak and heat up the chickpeas I will be sticking to egg whites
I always soak the chickpeas with soda overnight as it doesn’t cause bloating afterwards but rise it out well before cooking . Would this effect the PH as you mentioned in the video? Any clarification on this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance .🙏🏻
Hey. How long does it last for?
What if you use an instant pot for cooking the chickpeas? Can u use that aquafava?
It's thick like gelatin after the first boil, should I still boil to reduce it a 2nd time, like you demonstrated? Thank you.
Mary, you say "after burning the pot my boyfriend bought me a new one because if he didn't I'd be making soup and stew in a frying pan. Because that's how I do." Freakin' hysterical I totally resonate with that.
How long can you store the aquafaba in the fridge for future use?
Super… Nicely presented also.. Thank you.
Hi Mary Do you know if the AF works once frozen? I am unlikely to make meringues….though I might if I check out your video! – but I could use it in baked goods. If you said it in the video and sorry I missed it. 🙂
Hi,Marry❤ My aquafaba didn’t thicken after cooking. Will it get thicker after refrigerator or I did something wrong?
Great info! I’m trying to make marshmallows
Very clear cut. Not only vegan, but much healthier than double cream 🥰
Add the soda if you plan to make Hummus….it literally annihilates the skins eliminating the tedious task of skinning them and making it so much smoother.
I failed making meringue either using canned aquafaba or homemade aquafaba (yes I haven't stored it yet in the fridge.). I'm hopeless 'll try it again tho. How long did you spend the time to whip the aquafaba to become that thick like soft peak?
Can we skip the refrigeration step?
How long does it keep in the fridge?
I now use some of it to make hummus instead of oil. Makes a very creamy hummus. Curtesy High Carb Hannah.
What are the pots that your boyfriend bought you? I saw one and I would like to know more please
Vegan mayo with aquafaba for egg substitute is sooo good
I’ve recently found recipes for making mayonnaise with aquafaba instead of raw eggs and LOVE it!
Thank you for this recipe for cooking chickpeas and making the aquafaba.
@Mary's Test Kitchen
have you ever made aquafaba powder from this or think it would work?
Cool! I like those curry needless buns, they look delish!
Very well done and most appreciative of the disclaimer regarding the recipe's origin. However, indigenous cultures all around the world speak the name of those that give them their wisdom which brings additional spiritual blessings. But all in all, a most beautifully done presentation.
Thanks for this video. I'll definitely try making aqaufaba from scratch and also find ways to make delicious vegan meals with chick peas.
