Looks like what was missing was more of the three cups, chilis and Thai basil. I tried this tonight and felt like after the searing, I should have just put it into the crowded pot for simmering. In the end, it turned out like teriyaki, but I wished I added a corn starch slurry for gravy.
thanks for your videos they rock!
NICE JOB, I ESPECIALLY LIKE THAT YOU USED CHICKEN THIGHS WITH SKIN ON, YET BONED AND CUT INTO MANAGEABLE PIECES. I ALSO ENYOY REHYDRATED BLACK CHINESE MUSHROOMS AND A COUPLE OF PIECES OF STAR ANISE..
So delicious. Thank you for sharing

Hello Cici, thank you for your great recipe and video. May I ask which kind of basil do you use? Thai ou Italian basil?

Thanks, looks so good

Love 3 cop chicken. You're definitely right about the rice. Can't eat it without it.
The Cajun music at the end surprised me. I wasn't expecting music from my area in your video. ^_^
From the looks on your face, it wasn't all that.
can I replace rice wine with regular cooking wine or Mirin?
Are the 10 garlic cloves added without cutting – and if yes are they usually eaten or just cooked into the pot for flavour?
@CiCi Li, is it possible to add some spiciness? Will it disrupt the original flavor if perhaps a little of chili powder is added?
Is there a mandarin version of these videos? It seems that's what the original predubbed versions are, and I'd love to send those to my mom.
