Love it!! I am a bean fanatic with my IP. Funny thing is I always have to cook mine for at least 40+ mins because I personally like my beans with absolutely no bite. Every recipe I have is like yours and says 30 mins but I always do a minimum of 40 if the recipe says 30. As a rule I add on 10 mins. That is not for everything—just beans so it must be a personal preference on texture.

So what do you do with your beans now that you have so many? Because there’s no way you could go through all of those right? Do you freeze in 2 cup Ziploc baggies? I tend to find it easier to just open a can of beans when I need them but I know cooking them from scratch tastes better and is better for digestion…

Amazingly perfect beans!!! Thank you. I did this method with black beans and pintos so far. We’ll try 2 different types of bean each week until we’ve tried them all. I’ll letcha know how they all turn out. 🙏🏻❤️

My pressure cooked beans split or lose their outer layer. They taste fine though. Not sure what folks do to make canned beans look perfect.

Loved the short and sweet video, MiRanda. 😊 Hey, do you ever cook pinto beans in the instant pot? I've got some that I want to cook, but I'm not sure if they'd be similar in time to the red, black, and white beans?

I’m curious as to how soft the red and white beans come out. I’ve always found they take a lot longer to soften than the black beans. I wonder if the salt helps that or not. Was my grandma wrong when she taught me that adding salt inhibits the softening process? Now I’m going to have to experiment 😆

I’ve been working on my instant pot bean skills and I frequently have beans that are a little tough. The recipe I use is very similar to what you’ve done in the video, I use an additional 1/2 cup of water. The cooking time is one hour. I’ve had to add time to get the beans cooked through. Any suggestions? Or just keep adding time?

💜This was the reason I bought my first instant pot 4 yrs ago. I have 3 of them now. Lol 😀
I make a pot of beans every Sunday. I love that you don't have to soak them and it's done in an hour. I add 1 T chili powder, cumin, garlic, and salt to mine. I also baggie them up in 2 cup portions for the freezer.
    🤩Great video for newbies!
