nahh man… so AB needs to cut back on his salt n fat intake. If you using bacon, drain the fat. Omit the butter even if you aren't. Make sure you properly clean your greens and stem them to your liking but be aware of your stems, thick ones are tough. Greens need some salt, not so much fat. Whatever smoked meat you are using will give you enough oil, ya don't need much.

Hi, were we live we do not have collard greens or broccoli/mustard greens. Which cabbage would you suggest, that will have the same structure. We do have kale here, but I am not sure if it will turn out the same. I'd love to start cooking this soulfood for our Christmas this year.

They look delicious, pot liquor and all 😋! I usually cook kale green. This is actually the first time I've cooked collards in a long time, plus adding turnip greens and mustard greens even longer. I'm going to try the smoked bacon next time 👍🏾!

That looks absolutely delicious, and you know what. You're making a meat and veggie broth. I wonder if that could make a good Ramen? But the greens look amazing, I can just taste the bitter and savoury greens and broth.

I make mine like this minus the bacon. I also cook them in the slow cooker instead of the stovetop. Looks really delicious I bet your thanksgiving dinner was 🔥
