When Rain Country said You Tube thought they were over reacting or fearmongering with their tips on what to do in the face of the coronavirus; my words, not You Tube's, but that's what it amounted to, it made me mad. Though they did let them keep airing it, they won't let them make any money on it. Just to try and make up for the loss of income I am playing every single video they ever put out, all the way through, especially the ads, just to make sure they count. That doesn't mean I have to watch them again or watch ones that aren't of an interest to me. I am lining them up on my saved videos, I 'like' them all, turn down the sound and let them play while I'm doing other things. You Tube can be a bit judgemental. And considering some of the filth I have run across, it comes off as a little hypocritical as well on occasion. I saw nothing to cause a panic and the tips can be used for even the common cold. Use common sense. I have picked some of my favorite You Tube pages; like yours โ˜บ๏ธ; and am doing the same thing. I want to make sure all of my favorites get their fair payment for all their hard work.

I put my liner, lid, and sealing ring in my dishwasher. Itโ€™s perfectly fine and is in my information book that came with my instant pot. Only the base cannot go into the dishwasher. It was a huge game changer when I learned that.

Great info Mary , thanks ! I always thought that soaking anything like plastic or rubber would leave it "gummy" .meaning the vinegar would break down the material leaving it useless .

We use Barkeepers Friend for anything solid steel…but if it's carbon steel like my outdoor knives you have to remember to rinse that off really well…dry it and then lubricate with Pam or drug store mineral oil. It's great on solid copper too.

LOVE my Instant pot, I actually own 2 & use them a couple times a week. Most of what I cook now is in the IP. I even cook my Gumbo in it now, which being Cajun, I cook Gumbo very often.
My pot still looks great after almost 3 years of constant use.
I use vinegar for lots of cleaning things.
The only cleaning complaint I have is around the edge of the pot(not the liner)…it is so hard to get my fingers in that inside of that rim.
Hope you have been good Mary. Your looking great.

To clean the space between the inner pot and the outside pot, the lip, I use a small foam paint brush to get into the narrow space and clean it. You can buy these brushes at any craft store or the craft department of a store like Walmart for under a dollar and use them many times as you just need to wash them in soap, water, and rinse well and dry for the next use. Good as new. Many craft stores have them on sale often at 10 for a dollar if you don't want to mess with washing them.

I've tried it all and still find myself dissatisfied. I have ever used 2 mins worth of Pressure Cooking, natural release with a little vinegar. However, cooking rice is the better. Tonight after this posting I will be making crab stock. Oh, wish me luck or better still pray! (Giggle). Love and Joy!
