I tried making candied oranges and it was awful. When you peel the orange away, how much pith should be left on? I used equal parts water vs sugar and followed your directions. 😢so disappointed. Also, stollen in stores have a thick confectionery glaze which I love because of my sweet tooth. Is plain confection sugar traditional? You need plenty of energy to make this bread!!

My family has made stollen for Christmas for years. If I use candied lemon – I use dried cherries and golden raisins with almonds. When I use orange – I use the cranberries and walnuts.
