This is exactly the way I make mine, and we all love it. My daughter went to a friend's family Thanksgiving, and when she came home she told me they didn't make their sweet potatoes right. She wanted her mama's!

Happy Holidays!! Quick question. Whatโ€™s the diff in AP vs self rising flour for this dish? I made this for Xmas dinner yesterday. It was a hit!! This has now been added to our family cookbook. Thank you!

I used to steam or boil my sweet potatoes but, then I had an elderly lady tell me to try baking them and using them in my pies and my sweet potato casserole. And, I can tell you that I will never do it any other way. My condolences to you and and your family. May God continue to comfort you and give you peace. ๐Ÿ™‚

Oh my goodness! I did not know of your family's loss. Condolences of course for your family and heartfelt comraderie for those of us who have lost our significant parents! Your Mama had to be so proud of you and your family life. My mother taught me to cook and though she was bipolar since she was 21, she was still the backbone of our family. She was a savant and could learn to do anything including many beautiful crafts that always won blue ribbons at the county fair. But among the most enduring things she instilled in me was her love of all kinds of cooking. I don't have her cookbooks as an ex wife of one of my brothers whisked those away but I have my memories and recipes in my head n heart. Please know you are a lovely example of a hard working, dedicated soul to me. Thank you for all you do, it's a testament of what was instilled in you by your Mama.
