In New Orleans, we don’t put our bunnies out until Ash Wednesday. We have an extra holiday here. Carnival Season begins on 12th night, January 5 and continues through Mardi Gras day. We enjoy decorating for that too.

I just attended an agriculture conference, where there was a lot of discussion about pfas chemicals. I just got to thinking about your chicks that passed (all but one, and that you've had greater success with chickens grown somewhere else). I think you should do some contamination testing for pfas chemicals. I did a quick search to see that drinking water in Ontario Oregon has been testing and showed (low levels) of contamination from fire fighting foam.

Pfas chemical could explain your struggle with young birds (they are much more susceptible), and why your later birds have been fine (they were able to establish their immune system before coming to you).

I only bring this up because you live in a very dusty agriculture town (not to mention surrounding wildfires), where it could be really easy to be exposed to high levels of these chemicals.

Not trying to be a fearmonger, but I think it's important as gardeners/farmers that we evaluate our risk.

I’m glad to hear about your suggestion of sand on top of the surface for houseplants to deter interior gnats, but for aphids outside it would be very informative to advise people they don’t necessarily need products to eradicate aphids. A spray of strong water or doing nothing are better options for our ecosystem too and just letting the insects and predators solve the issues themselves. Thanks, enjoy the entertainment as always.

Laura, have you ever had to deal with stinkbugs? Vancouver BC here – zone 7-8. I'd heard once they get inside your house in fall, they'll lay eggs. And now I'm finding them constantly – including one in bed!! The stuff of nightmares! Help!

Hi there!!! You can pick up birch logs…I can't here in South Florida, but I can get palm branches in my backyard. I wouldn't pay for logs, anyway…I would paint some other branch. Thanks guys for the recap! As always, great information!

My kids birthdays are on the 4 and 5 of April. We did a combined bday only twice. But honestly neither of them really cared for parties anyway so I got off easy. Lol Good job Ken on your dramatic debut!
