Ingredients: 1 block tofu 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon garlic powder Black pepper, to taste 1 tablespoon oil (plus more for cooking) 1/3 cup cornstarch
Sauce 1/4 cup Sweet Chilli Sauce (Mae Ploy) 2 tablespoons honey 1 tablespoon oyster sauce 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 tablespoon rice vinegar 1/4 cup water
1 onion, sliced 6 cloves garlic, minced 10 oz bag green beans Sesame oil Sesame seeds, for garnish
Directions: Press the tofu by placing it in between paper towels and place a heavy object on top to squeeze out the moisture. Leave for 30 min then cut it into 1 inch cubes. Place into a bowl then drizzle with 1 tablespoon of oil, salt, garlic powder, pepper and cornstarch. Toss to make sure each cubes tofu is covered.
Combine the ingredients for the sauce and set aside.
Add enough oil to cover the bottom of a skillet, no worries we will be discarding most of it. Cook the tofu for 3-4 minutes, do it in batches if need be. Remove from skillet and discard all but a tablespoon of oil from the skillet. Add the onion and green beans, cook for about 5 minutes. Then add the garlic and cook for another minute. Add the sauce and tofu into the skillet and cook for about 3 minutes. Remove from heat and drizzle with a bit of sesame oil. Serve with rice and garnish with sesame seeds.
Honey Sesame Tofu
