I just stumbled onto your channel. It is so nice to see a young family doing homesteading and sharing their experience. I also live in the Okanagan in BC. I don’t live on a homestead but do live outside of Vernon. I have my gardens and do pressure canning, dehydrating and freezing. I have gardens and spend my summer canning, etc. I go to the orchards to pick fruit and find ways to store them as well. I have learned alot from watching videos. I enjoyed your 16 meals in jars video.I will be making those meals. I am a senior, but work seasonally, and it is nice to come home to a meal that can be made quickly. I think y husband can handle that, lol. Keep on sharing!

Thank you for another great video! We enjoy a Sweet and Smokey Zucchini Salsa and a zucchini relish. The relish is what I make when the cucumbers don’t have a great year. Which Ball preserves book is your favourite? I have a Bernardino one but would like to can more meal in a jar recipes

Years ago I had a bumper crop of tomatoes and had tons on the vines when frost was about to hit. I picked them all and my mom and older sister found a recipe for chow chow or green tomato relish. It was so good! Another idea for green tomatoes. It’s good on hot dogs, hamburgers and mostly on rice and beans (a staple in the south). Give it a try!

Glad to know what jarred meals are good.
Also I tried my own chai concentrate from your idea in the last video. It’s so good and convenient. I just took my normal chai recipe and canned it.

Would love to see videos of everyday cooking using your canned items. Also would love seeing garden videos when that time comes. As I’ve said before, I really enjoy your channel and look forward to watching your videos!! Blessings

I can certain foods every two years, including some varieties of pickles, applesauce, and fruit jams. The only things I can every season are my tomatoes, green beans, broths, and convenience meals, including an amazing chicken pot pie in a jar. I have not found a good ketchup recipe, after trying and failing several times. In the mean time, I still purchase the sugar free kind at Aldi. Your pantry is nice and will fill up quick. I'm not a "rebel" canner, but will try some of yours. They look delicious. Thank you for sharing your pantry tour. Hope you have a great week! Also, wanted to mention that the channel here on you tube: "That 1870's Homestead" has a ketchup and canned salmon recipes (and more). I've learned a lot from them as well as your channel.

Becky at the Acre Homestead channel has a good ketchup recipe. Your channel is fantastic btw. I love all the recipes you share and am gravitating towards canning meals rather than just ingredients. Thanks for the inspiration. 🩷

Abbey, I have some recipes for carrot cake, apple pie, and onion jams if you would like them. The carrot cake jam is really good. The onion jam is good with roasts. I came across 40 quarter pint jars on Amazon for 20 some dollars. There is just the 2 grown boys and myself here now. So, the quarter pints, I'll use for non-pickled jalapenos and pizza sauce. I have a 63 day growing season, not really conducive to tomatoes. I do make pasta sauce I just buy the restaurant size cans of tomato sauce and make it from those. They run $3.79 a can at Costco and is a real cost saver for that purpose.

I'm a diabetic and my canning habits have changed with the size change in the family and my diagnosis. Most of the meals in a jar I will use to can in 1/2 pints because they are low carb and something I can grab to make if I don't feel like cooking or the boys are having some pasta dish for dinner.

I got hooked on paprika ketchup in Europe when I lived there. There are some good recipes out there for that if you are interested. I don't lean towards the sweet ketchups. Townsends here on YouTube has a recipe that is mushroom ketchup that is pretty good.
