Gotta eat out sometimes. Things happen! We try to eat at home, but theres occasions we pick-up if we have to. I try to stock our freezer with quick, easy premade meals in case we have a day where someone is sick or something unexpected happens. But sometimes, getting something out happens! I was in the ER last weekend because of an unexpected kidney stone and infection so it was nice to have some of the quick easy things in the freezer because I didnt feel up to par to go sit at a restaurant. But I am getting so discouraged lately! These prices are insane. They are not coming down. I had a walmart order from the end of 2022 on my app, I did a pretend reorder of all the same exact items, and it was exactly double, plus a few dollars. It's insanity right now! We do cyber home school, so I've been trying to purchase needed school supplies for the fall since May. Just a little at a time, plus I did score some winter clothes on clearance for the kids for this fall/winter. Times suck!

In our house, instead of being so restrictive, we allow two meals a month for going out. I find we are still saving money BUT we don’t feel as bad on hot or busy days when we just don’t have time. Just allow yourself forgiveness regardless of what you do. ❤️

I am the only one who grills as my husband is never home, I try to put everything on the grill.
I don’t use my oven for almost 2 months. I run the crock pot a lot and I’ve started making double food so I don’t have to cook as often right now.

Tiffany, I've been meaning to comment but I always forget. You have inspired me so much to cook way more at home. Since January of this year I don't think we've eaten out much but maybe 3-4 xs and that's huge for us because we use to eat out way more. Just trying to save money where I can for these expenses we have. Thanks for being inspiring.

Tiffany, you work so hard. I understand the heat! I run a fan in my kitchen even with our air cooling. Cooking does heat up the kitchen. No harm, no foul to go out every once in a while. I know it is expensive and sometimes these days eating out is a disappointment. However, not usually with Mexican. You have to do something occasionally to get out of the rut. I admire your eat at home but enjoy a break!!!!!

Is ok we mess up to lately. Hubby works with humongous ovens all day in this heat. So what we pick to get on grocery day or what we pick to take out of the freezer just doesn't appeal to him when he gets home! And then it happens …we eat out or lately we go get sandwich stuff or salad. Good thing about messing up tho is you cab always begin again ❤❤

You have made a good effort to eat at home. So what if you didn't reach the goal you set! You had a good run of it, and I wouldn't cook in a 90-degree house, either. Don't be discouraged.
