    Chicken quarters at .69/lb for 10 lb bag are a great buy. I smoke them, debone and pressure can that meat to use just like regular canned chicken in sandwiches, soups, casseroles but it has a nice little smoky flavor. Four raw chicken legs fit in a quart jar; raw pack and they look horrible in the jar after canning but they make their own broth and are great. I really like canning oven-browned meatballs in quarts with either cannable spaghetti sauce or beef broth. Family's favorite is canned cubed roast in beef broth, raw pack and add a little cornstarch after opening for an excellent gravy over potatoes, pasta, etc. Possibilities are endless with meat canning.

    I just canned chicken and beef I got from our farm to fork store. Meat is about the easiest to can. The beef makes wonderful hot beef sandwiches and the chicken is practically instant chicken salad! ❤️
    I also can taco meat for quick nachos and ready made chili!

    Just in case you had forgotten, you are an amazing woman! How you manage to be a great mother, wife, teacher, farmer, cook, and still find time to can and preserve is beyond my comprehension.
    I recently had my three teenage grandchildren for a week which absolutely wore me out! They are wonderful, respectful, and so interesting but I found myself constantly planning, shopping for, or cooking meals. I am thankful to have new memories of our time together.
