I understand your points about Matt Rife but his special was just not funny in my opinion. It wasn't the subject matter even. The jokes just kind of fell flat for me. His crowd work is so good and he even plays on those "offensive" topics during his crowd work and as you were saying about another comic, the delivery is good. I think the delivery is the key to balance it out. Offensive with a good delivery is funny, Offensive with a bad delivery is just Offensive.
