I, the great and powerful, Oz figure the trail up on the mountain was made by humans; deer, elk, sheep, goats are all grazers and wouldn't stay in a dedicated traverse like that. I'm guessing indigenous people's. Those big drainages may have served the peoples. The very old building foundation lines you saw could have been Indian Longhouses; possibly for Potlatches with other tribes or groups. I'm thinking it's way too large for white man purposes. Very unlikely trappers/miners would have any reason for so large. Potlatches were quite the event with lots of goods and people.. Just guessing, of course.
Hey, in your bag of coffee grounds you could enclose a spoon, a measuring scoop, or the like so your coffee is perfect everyday!!!! Let me know if I can help you with anything else, I got a million o' them.
